We talk about product and service innovation when, after analyzing the context, the market, the target audience and the concept that we want to transmit as a brand, we provide creative solutions by intervening in the characteristics, functioning and intangible components of products and services. This enhances the added value of the offer in the face of competition and new customer demands.

Why do we

need one?

Today's culture based on technology, speed, originality and social responsibility makes innovation essential in every company. Customer loyalty is no longer only linked to a brand that represents them, but also to products that can open up new opportunities and generate unique experiences. This increases the market share and competitiveness of the company by raising its value.

What does it
consist of?

1 Laying the foundations

Sometimes, the objective is to create something from scratch and there are few limits to innovate with something ground-breaking, but more often, there is a whole product and service base start from before intervening. This is why a prior study must be carried out and every aspect of what is being offered must be well understood: its characteristics, how it works, the process behind it, its functionality and how it impacts the end consumer.

2 Inspiration

The search for references is an essential part of this process. We need to know what has already been done and is working in the market; look at the competition, but also at other industries; look into new technologies and eep up to date with trends and new consumer demands. Keeping a curious attitude and an open mind to new options, ready to take risks, will help us ride the wave of innovation.

3 Innovation methodology

Innovation is often associated with creativity, chance and spur of the moment inspiration, but for it to really work and have a positive impact, it must follow h a methodological process. That's why we use techniques such as Design Thinking for generating new concepts, Lean Startup to validate customers or the Agile methodology to implement ideas in the most efficient way possible.

4 Development

The path of innovation is an uncertain one, and once the process starts, we don't know where it may end. But once we have defined the idea and the concept that will change the product, we look for the resources and means to carry it out, we give different solutions within the possibilities, we test and pivot depending on the results, thereby optimizing the final part of the innovation process.

FAQS

  • When is it necessary to innovate in the product or service?

The innovation process of a company should never end. Nowadays, markets are very aggressive and every day new businesses are generated with differentiating proposals – so a product cannot remain stagnant. Innovation must go hand in hand with the growing need for technology, socio-cultural demands and originality of proposals for consumers.

  • Which companies need product innovation?

All companies can innovate in some way in their value proposition, as this can be not only in the product itself, but in everything that surrounds it, whether distribution, packaging, socio-environmental impact, brand identity, the services associated with it or in the creation of synergies with other products. Any company can and must find ways to make its offer more attractive to meet the future challenges of the market.

  • What is Design Thinking?

We talk about Design Thinking as a method to generate innovative ideas from understanding and solving real consumer needs. It is an iterative process in which you go forward as well as backwards several times until you find the right answer to the user's requirements. It starts with a phase of empathy and understanding, definition, ideation, development of prototypes and a final phase of testing.

  • What is the Agile methodology?

To follow an Agile methodology is to build ways of working by adapting them to the conditions of the project, thus providing flexibility and immediacy of response to the specific circumstances of the environment. Here, requirements and solutions evolve over time and leave no room for static planning. The team is organized in a flexible, multidisciplinary and self-organized way in a shared decision-making process that increases the efficiency and productivity of the innovation.
